DeMarcus Zaragoza is in his second year as an assistant coach with the Lakeland men’s basketball program in 2025-26.
Zaragoza joined the Muskies coaching staff after wrapping up his collegiate playing career with two years at Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa. He played in 30 games over two years for the NAIA program, averaging 3.2 points per game as a senior and also serving as a team captain.
Zaragoza also completed his degree in sports management from Clarke after previously spending one year at McPherson College in Kansas and his first two years at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He also has experience as a coach with Basketball Tao DOJO developmental program in his hometown of Denver, Colo., where he directed a club basketball team and assisted with youth from grade 6 up through high school.
